Fake effects

alone_coder, and if i answer "yes" to both your stupid (yes, they are) questions - so what? what next? how are you going to forbid me to make a demos?
i don't need neither your new technologies nor any of your animations fests, and looks like you are the only one around who cares about these animation fests. so, i have a question for you too: why do you still make a demos instead of cartoons only?

sq, I make demos because I have new technologies to show.
If todays demoscene is all about animation, I better quit.
If todays demoscene is all about animation, I better quit.
How about concentrating on making those new demos instead of whining about what other people do?
bah. doesn't sound like demosceneish activity to me.
alone_coder, and how does animation prevent you from showing new technilogies? if you are so angry that you are ready to quit, so, maybe, JUST SHOWING new technologies is not your main goal?
i don't care much if it's faked or not, but i really hate demos with bad colour schemes, and don't consider them to be real demos. That includes every speccy demo ever made, plus anything made in holland or neighbouring countries.
sq, why do you hate alonecoder? :)
sq, if the people who've stolen the great name of demoscene prefer fakes over code I can use some of my technologies in gamedev although it's slower than making demos.
Use your technologies for whatever the fuck you want, that's what we do..
Also, I am truly proud to be one of "the people who've stolen the great name of demoscene" :-D
Alone_Coder, you forgot the question:
3. If you are so cool coder, what are you doing here? Go pc/consoles and do the game engines or cool software. Or maybe you're not so cool and capable to do something only at ZX?

diver, I never left ZX Spectrum unlike you and I'll be the last man standing. That's my machine.
Just when the other threads ran out of entertainment...
Alone_Coder: What are you trying to accomplish by opening this thread?
Tomoya, I want real demoscene with real demos and real coders.
Ok, but who decides what's a real demoscene and what's not a real demoscene? Let's take the Wikipedia route:
I can't see how demos with pre-rendered animations don't fit in this definition.
Of course, you're free to organize your own party/compo where all the pre-rendered content is banned.
Quote:
The demoscene is a computer art subculture that specializes in producing demos, which are audio-visual presentations that run in real-time on a computer. The main goal of a demo is to show off programming, artistic, and musical skills.

Alone_Coder, you did'nt answered my question.
Tomoya, if you read your quote thoroughly, you'll notice:
1. Running in real-time.
2. To show off programming skills in the first place.

plek wins, flawless victory.
diver, I've answered yours, but you haven't answered mine.
Alone_Coder, no. You didn't told WHY don't go pc/consoles to show your cool coding skills to whole world. That is the main question.
kusma: But his wish will never come true. :(
That's not too bad either. I think they go great with popcorn.
