Brokepoint - Breakpoint 2009 is in danger and needs YOUR support

"covering their sponsoring"? like, their banner was visible for a fraction of a second? :) in that aspect, a website counts a whole lot more.
Salinga: Not much. Most sponsors we have care about the direct contact to the scene on location, that's why they always send representatives. Sure, for the big ones media converage also counts, but that's more about getting their logo seen in a TV or print press report. Stream neither gives direct contact nor a lot of viewers. So no, no sponsor has ever told us they'd find the streaming relevant.
To everyone who mailed me or queried me on IRC to get the sponsor info folder: It's finally done, and I've replied to all mails I think. If you are still waiting, please page me!
Hey Scamp, what's about public fund rising with the city mayor, the Lander, the cultural desk, the new technology desk ?
I'm working on that, but don't expect much. This is traditional catholic wine-area, and we are having a party on holy easter, which is more or less illegal according to state laws. There is no such thing as a "new technology desk". We have dedicated desks for wine, and for wine-boozing related activities, and for carnival. And as 99% of the organizing team is non-local, we don't have the resources to do lots of lobby work. Plus, such lobby work in general has to be done far in advance - cultural funds for 2009 are long distributed already. The thing that actually works best here is "we are bringing media attention, which may attract additional tourists" and "we book out local hotels".
And to be honest: In the past I've always preferred the support from *informed* sponsoring partners that actually liked what we were doing, and how we were doing it as a scene. I don't feel like putting the "we are doing Art" tag everywhere just to receive some cultural funds.

i couldnt locate the blaue scheissewagen on the progress bar, i hope it is there tho!
The blaue scheissewagen will be more than happy to accept your 'donations' on location.
haha :D
:D what a relief :)
not yet! :)
you mean i have to hold it up for another bloody 2.5 months? oh gracious me!
i might as well just tie a knob in it
please do tell me how to 'tie' knobs and i'll be starting my own plastics firm
dont you ever dare to challenge my dutchisms, young man!
hey, i'm horse renoir
I would easily drink a bottle of wine if it were sponsored ;)
so... why has the bar not moved at all? =/
thec, thanks!
knoeki, because everybody who intended to donate already did so?
not exactly.. I haven't donated yet, safer for me to wait for the end of this month, bills, etc.
maybe because it's weekend, and banks don't tend to transfer money on weekends
I'm with knoeki on this one
as far as i gathered your donation will only show up on the bar if it's actually in the hands of BP organizers, meaning you bought a supporter ticket and the bank transfer has finished - if you donate to scene.org, (i assume) we will pool your money into one big wad and transfer it in one so they only have to write one invoice
so the total sum is now the sum of what is already on the bar + the pool donations?
Who cares, the boozing-tent is secured now!
