breakpoint 2008

category: general [glöplog]
"too many compos for coders" -> may be it's because coders are more active/motivated than graphicians? I feel like I'm saying the obvious, I don't see the point of xen's comment.

i want an emo compo

The amiga demo compo is there for that. It's just sad how the number of groups has deteriorated and the quality of the remaining ones vary too much. That is emo to me.

What about a "Real" art compo? Paintings, aerosol art/graffiti, sculptures....etc anything goes as long as its a physical thing.
Compo would show pictures, movie clips of your painting/wall/sculpture. Step by step progress. And people could ofcourse bring their art to the party if they bothered. (Kinda hard for people not comming by car)

@Nutman: take a look at the coding section on the ADA forum. Perhaps it will get better ... it just needs time to learn all the tricks, you know ;)
z5 did a great job there to gather the old farts and the newbies in one place.

@tft: persuade the orgas to pull a subway car on the stage and I'm in :D

btw, its kinda late, but still big compliment for the site design!

tft, dunno, i think it's too vague for a "normal" demoparty. it's nice to have these things at icons for example, which is kinda more "underground" and "artsy". breakpoint is filled up with compos anyway.

tFt: Icons will have a Natural Media compo again. Come to Icons, it's in early June ;)

IV. The big secret

Well, this one is just a teaser instead of real information:
The coming week we are going to announce a demoscene's first
impressive ass-rocking new party feature for Breakpoint 2008.

The announcement will be of importance for next to everyone
taking part in competitions, so make sure not to miss it. All
visitors will greatly benefit from it. Stay tuned :)

so what will it be?
my guess: a party dvd, like those assembly dvds..

Actually, i might have said it out loud (or not) but i'd like to see the people (the makers of the prod that is being shown) taking a bow, getting empty beer bottles thrown at them, or whatever, during the compo, on stage. Sounds stupid, but this would help keeping the lamest shit out of the compos, as well as help people to know who made and what...

I would really like to see what those synesthetics guys really look like. Let's hope they'll participate this year!
