Unfortunately for you this one is only in french so far...

Shadow hunters is not perfect (because we know the life points from other players), but the hidden information + partnership + different objectives is interesting (i will have to try battlestar galactica though).

All these games seems nice but at the same time very complex and with "must read 2.5 hours before playing" manuals . Isn't a board game supposed to be fun at first ???

Not all those games require 2.5 hours. And if you're with friends, normally only one of you will read the rules, and then it's 5 minutes(rasende roboter, carcassonne...) to 30 minutes (really the very complex games, i usually don't like them either) explanations i think...

Here's another one that's not so complex (new players will grasp it within 5-10 minutes).

Then there's Dominion (http://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/36218/dominion) of course! Quite simple, very varied and a lot of room for strategy

EL Grande & Thurn and Taxis are both great fun (the latter also for 2 players)
Best game for two players is Carcasonne though.

The fabulous 7 wonders by Antoine Bauza collects all the rewards!

Kingdom Builder is very cool.
