ZINE - The Radio Show
category: general [glöplog]
Anyway, enough making fun of eachother, I am sincerely looking forward to this zine podcast later tonite!
okkie: yeah, I meant guests hehe :)
i will download that and BBB from Slayradio and listen to when both are released :)
Hugi had its own radio show eight years ago at The Havok Radio (http://www.thehavok.co.uk). The owner of that radio was defbase. Maybe he or someone else still has the mp3 files.
Adok: really? cool! history seems to repeat itself than ;-)
yay!
leeching!
leeching will have a listen later =)
Adok: Good thing Hugi doesn't have that any more - you wouldn't want to do anything to compromise that core business of yours.
gloom: that was just a joke.. my joke ;)
it sounds a bit like axel was dialing in from his toilet, or some other tiny space ;)
still listening after the first part, so good so far :)

55 minutes and 16 seconds later...:
Axel: your voice sounds 'far away and hollow' with a little echo (due to Skype ?) This is contrary to Okkie's voice with sounds quite good...
Both good understandable and hearable though..
"Maybe FLT can win assembly now since everybody is competing at NV Scene" hehe good one Okkie :)
Ok this was just one sentence from a whole conversation hear all..
anyway nice stuff.. (I skipped the music so earlier finished listening)
looking forward to part 2
greetz!

ok that was very cool, really enjoyed it, and i hope to hear more episodes in the future i could realy get used to that luxury :)
props for speaking fluently as i hate those shows which are 25% "umm" and "err". the conversation had humour and was interesting, a nice balance, and the mix was great, nice job on that vincenzo, and well done to Axel and my homeboy Okkie =)

Cons:
I have to agree with magic on Axel's voice quality, I know it's skype and all but maybe there are some better choices out there.
I thought the track around the 31-32 minute mark was a bad choice, it doesn't really fit into the entertaining image this show aims for (or simply put: it's crap - sorry to whoever)
Also, some of the background music was quite distracting and sometimes I really had to concentrate to keep my attention on the speakers. Next time maybe more laidback ones?
Pros:
Well, everything else. The two speakers work together quite well, the topics are interesting, the jingles are pro and overall it managed to keep me entertained. And what else do we need :)

maali, my eyes are not the problem, but your ears: download the podcast and count how many minutes of music and conversation is in there... then do the math on those posting times...

zoom: yeah, we prepared the music pretty much after the show. I guess the song you mean is one of the Front 242 inspired songs? We played both '242' and the music from 'Grotesque', more to fit the theme than to have a proper soundtrack listing.
Next time we'll make sure the audio is properly selected before the show. :)
Oh, and about the mic thing. I actually used the internal mic of my laptop (which seems to be quite good) and Axel uses a mic in a webcam. So we might have to invest in a proper headset for Axel. :)
Thanks for all the feedback y'all! It was good fun to do, so expect more in the future :)

Nice show, can we get tracklisting :) ?
zoom, the track at 31-32 is a ~300kb 8bit sample sequence recorded straight from an atari ste's line out. sure as hell that soundquality does not compare to any other music in the podcast. but as mentioned in the podcast itself, this was played for historical reasons (to illustrate the connection between front 242 and the demoscene), and not because anyone is pretending that the soundquality or the remix itself is good by today's standards ;)
havoc: allright I get it, I still skipped it though, sorry I'm such an ass for not respecting history :)
