I know what is an animation and what is a recording.
You consider there is a difference, well you're right and I'm too: it's a question of definition.
All my problems with sceners comes from my communication way and their special mind which turns everything the wrong way: an animation is a sequence of frames and a demo is a realtime animation.
Of course real animators don't make demos, they do even better looking like animations than what computers can in realtime now but not for a long time.
And a recording is a rip of demos' frames with sounds too. You use fraps or kkapture by ryg /fb to get an animation version of a demo.
The advantages is less problems with drivers and no need to have a fast video card to watch the latest top high tech demo which required really good video cards.
Well honestly, it's quite rare to see a demo needing more than my utterly GOOD for the PRICE Geforce 5200 128 MB, so perhaps that you lamers / (democoders) are not as bad as you seems. It's just that some demos hurted me and I'm not anymore interested by new style demos and especially 3D mapped and shaders: this make me mad and bore me so much.
However, that this don't stop you releasing demos and be happy doing that: the world don't revolve around me and you've got to evolve with your time.
