New AI rules @revision

Lol fuck AI.

tangentially, if these rules mean that i don't have to hear more godawful suno-generated vocals, i'm all for them

Getting routines from codebase64 is file
File = fine sorry no AI correction enabled 😂
Just lie, be dishonest, hack, like all demomakers have always done. All prods will use AI. There is no way to figure that out.
unfortunately that is the future indeed
^ Please do not underestimate the ability of the (new) scene spirit to build trust and overcome cynicism

Have a jury also have people to disassemble prods to see if they are done properly.
I am fucking serious. Nothing is stopping a jury from manually checking each and every prod to check its purity.
There is already right and wrong ways to make prods. Why stop now? Take it further for the sake of the digital culture, ffs.
Working stages -> git commit log

Sure there is. Time.
From the Revision compo rules:
Quote:
Should you violate these rules we have the right to disqualify your entry during and up to 3 months after Revision.
If an entry is suspicious, there is plenty of time for anyone who cares to look into the matter.
Deliberate compo rule violations are (to the best of my knowledge) pretty rare. Covert violations (rather than obvious ones done in jest) even more so. I don't think this will be any worse for the AI rule. On the contrary, given the prevalent AI discourse, anyone caught cheating on this parameter can be sure to be publicly shamed to a degree scarcely seen in the Demoscene to date.

you're assuming that this rule change is wildly unpopular among sceners and that "everyone" would use those kinds of models if it was only allowed. very untrue

Only if they are easy to tell. There have been plenty converted GFX, for example. And if you make a picture with gen AI, convert it, and fix the obvious conversion artefacts... noone will ever know, or be able to find out. (and workstages can be faked just like that, no worries)

So, the scene is only for those who conform to the majority view now?

Indeed. As we’ve seen on several occasions. Not that these “workstages” can fool a keen observer or another gfxian for a second. But, usually it’s enough for the orgas that “workstages” exist. Whether they’re genuine or not.

Hopefully.

Yep, that would actually work. Down to the exact source commits.
yeah because one of the three laws of AI coding agents is that they may not generate commits! Its like undercover cops that have to tell you they're cops if you ask them directly, I believe this is how pablo got his escrow-bar or smthn.

you could make a 4k intro about that you know.

Only if they conform to majority (hopefully)

Just making sure we all got the subtext that both of these can be falsified.
