Cloakcoins from Revision?
category: general [glöplog]
It's sad to hear that. Kinda feel awkward for being the one accidentally exposing this.
Please come back and forget about the prizes, they are not that important to most of us, it's so long since then and I don't mind about getting any coins anymore..

Come back Fell! Some asshole stealing coins is bad, but stealing a good friend from us is worse...
I'll speak out in support of Fell too. He was very friendly every time I met him, and just really fun in general. I'd love to see him back at parties again! And making releases again too!
I miss my pals skomp, swb and fell. We all do!
1. Fell return!
2. Next prize cryptocurrency - preferably on a ledger wallet.
3. HODL.

Ffs, somebody go kidnap fell and bring him back to the parties, he's missed!
Not much more to add that hasn't been already covered. Fell inducted me into RiFT shortly after Nova 2017 where my demoscene output has flourished and I miss the lad. Come back matey, let's make Rift great again!
Will keep posting in this thread until I can give Fell a hug at a party again!
set up a counter on pouet main page with 'X days since okkie hasn't hugged Fell at a party'
Sorry to necro-post...
Ugh. This is very depressing to read, especially in light of how much time has passed and Fell still being pretty much totally AWOL from the Demoscene (and too embarrassed to interact with his Demoscene brothers and sisters). I have quite a bit of background knowledge related to this incident now and it's very sad. I did some dev work on the Cloak project when the original team ran off and some new guys took over in order to keep the project alive. It was actually through Fell that I came in contact with them. Helping out on the project caused a lot of headaches for both myself and Fell (I pretty much had a mental breakdown due to stress and almost lost my family in the process), so it's quite hard not to see Cloak as the proverbial bad penny in many way, especially in light of this situation :(
I know for 100% fact that Fell [and the prize winners] was totally scammed in this incident (tbh, it feels to me like he is the biggest victim in all of this, in my many ways). This feels like a classic case of 'no good deed goes unpunished' as anyone who knows Fell well, knows him to be a truly lovely dude and someone who always goes out of his way to help out anyone in need. Backreading here, Fell has outlined things accurately. On a personal level, I'm embarrassed to have been involved in the project at all (albeit in a volunteer helping role, like Fell), especially after this incident. My sensible head thinks writing this is probably not a good idea. However, Fell is (or was as Cloak has caused something of a Rift [no pun intended] between us) a good personal friend of mine, both in the Demoscene and outside of it and I would feel remiss in not speaking up on his behalf here. Like Fell, I have done everything in my power to get the person who stole the funds to return them. Like Fell, I have had zero luck with this, despite a great deal of effort made. The thief was totally unrepentant and even my pleading for a resolution in relation to this and making it clear Fell and myself look awful by association, fell on deaf ears. Those funds are never coming back. Both Fell and I gave our time for free to the project, which makes this sting all the more, but I don't care about anything other than getting Fell back tbh. I love that dude, as I'm sure many of you do. We all do stupid shit now and again (not that I think Fell did here).
I'm not familiar with the Revision sponsorship details as I was not involved at that point and I think mixing the Demoscene and this sort of stuff was a bad idea personally, as they operate under very different ethoses. Fell has suffered greatly as a result of this incident and the Demoscene has lost quite a hero to my eyes. If there was any blame to be directed in Fell's direction (which I certainly don't think there should be) it could only be in relation to him being trusting of the wrong person and trying to help where he could. I don't think it's ever fair for someone to suffer for being naive. I haven't spoken to Fell for a while now, but I live in hope that some sort of normality can resume for him and the Demoscene. A fallen brother should sadden us all IMHO. I've lost a few Demoscene brothers over the years due to them feeling they were encumbered with unsolvable problems and permanent solutions to temporary problems are heartbreaking. It's made me think differently about things like this. Sorry to those burned in this fiasco. The project looks to be pretty dead now and I certainly have no desire to help with anything like that again.
That's it from me. Thanks for reading and I hope you and the ones you love are safe in this weird world of ours at the moment. Much love to you all x
