The "there is no cabal" shit is in no way better than "middle-aged white man". You are expecting other people to take your "woke" stuff seriously, and are asking people to change, so you also should respect that other people have different opinions. Don't be so fucking intolerant towards other people while claiming to fight for tolerance.
I really wish the "woke" people to understand that so far they have not changed anything better for the scene, but just caused pain, frustration and polarization and made people quit.

Here's my unpopular opinion.
First, it's not like the "other side" had done anything constructive to make the scene a more inclusive place or even try to get more people into demomaking. On the contrary. If you look at the demographic makeup of the scene, it's become a lot more diverse, and that's no accident. It's to a good chunk thanks to the "woke" crowd that is actively pulling new people in, mentoring them, having private talks with people who were _actually afraid to go to demoparties_ thanks to people like some who posted in this thread, and ensuring them they're not alone and a that demoparty is a safe place to go to. Yes, let that sink in. People are afraid to go to parties because they don't feel safe, thanks to some of the guys posting here or writing on Discord. And showing those very guys that there are limits to their behaviour, that in the scene at large, _this shit won't fly_, is an important part of that.
Those "newbies", some btw we lost again thanks to YOUR seemingly neverending rants (yes, your name was mentioned several times), have been responsible for a lot of the top places in competitions at a lot of parties in the last years, not to speak about the newer disciplines like shader showdowns, etc, and establishing new demoparties and formats.
You might get a few private messages of people complaining about Darya or me or others because we're like, totally mean to them, but that pales in contrast to the artistic development the scene made in the last ten years, and the good people we gained.
You don't see even half of the picture here.

Then focus on the good things you are doing for the scene, and feel invited to speak about it more. Clearly if the "woke" people have done good things for the scene, then you clearly have a PR problem.
Not going to enter any competition of "did more people quit the scene because of me or others". As only a fraction of the people come forward, nobody knows anyway.
What I DO know however is that people are quitting BECAUSE of the culture war going on. Many people are not taking "sides", but simply don't want a culture war, especially not after a year of having been locked in.
The "woke" people need to stop hitting and hurting people, ridiculing them, but need to take them, their concerns and opinions seriously.
