hansee / brs, sinatra / brs and myself will land at frankfurt hahn airport around 18.00 on thursday evening - and there are no busses going into bingen. i was wondering if anyone else is in the same predicament - or if anyone are going by the airport around that time - heading for bingen :)

also, since i dont expect much luck in this department - how much is a taxi from the airport to bingen?

its possible to take bus from hahn to bingen, but i guess if you have few people coming then taxi will be about the same price and a lot easier.

nosfe, i checkd - seems the last one leaves at just before 18.00 -- can you point to the website which has bustravels to bingen after this hour? would be uber :)

Some of us will be around the airport whole thursday, idling until friday to take the official shuttle bus. We'll stay at a nearby hotel, can give you more details if you want to.

we are actually booked at NH bingen - so we need to get there. if anyone else is there thursday night join us for beers at the local pub :)

There are still busses going at that time - you can choose between two connections, both however take ages and suck:

You can go either by bus to Mainz and then take the train to Bingen:

Bus departs at 19:00, arrives at Mainz at 20:05, then go to track 11, go to the YELLOW ticket machine ("transregio") and buy a ticket to Bingen(Rhein) Hbf, and take the transregio TR train in direction to Köln/Koblenz departing at 20:30 on track 11. For most hotels exit at "Bingen(Rhein) Stadt".

Or you can take the bus to simmern and change to the bus to Bingen in Simmern (ok, you can't, the last one leaves at 17:57):

But obviously staying with other sceners will be more fun than that.

scamp, seriously excellent info! this will be useful, because we need to get to bingen thursday for various reasons - but mostly because we allready have our rooms booked at NH.

one more question, how much do you reckon a taxi would cost? more or less than 100 euro?

You should negotiate a fixed price before boarding the taxi, this is possible for long distances. You shouldn't pay more than 75 Euros. In the past we've ordered taxis that went for 50-60 Euros (but that was with pre-ordering). In any case: Yes, it will be below 100 Euros.

Oh, and if you should opt for Bus+Train: For NH hotel, exit at "Bingen(Rhein) Hbf" instead, that's next to the hotel.

Depends really. Im landing at Frankfurt MAIN at 15:40, so I will probably check out Frankfurt city for a couple of hours before I take the train to Mainz and Bingen.

Btw: Norwegians (and others ;), go and add your self to the FNU list. so we know how,where,when....
