Great artists you're a bit ashamed of supporting

category: general [glöplog]
Went to a Celine Dion concert yesterday.

Ridiculously priced tickets (not the good kind of ridiculous).

Probably one of the best voice-controlling artists ever to have lived.

Ballads, yes.. tonnes of them. So what? I had (to my own surprise) a blast and even took out my ear plugs in order to better appreciate her voice and the atmosphere - that doesn't even happen during the democompos at Breakpoint....

So, are there any artists out there that you're glad you have seen, but know you'll get in trouble for bragging about going to their concert, owning a CD of theirs, owning a painting/poem, etc....?
I like bad goth rock.

"appreciate her voice"

wtf... I assume that if there is a hell, they play celine dion there.

I sincerely try to understand what it good about her voice, but it hurts my ears and brain, I can't stand it!
sarah brightman :D

Tori Amos is great, as are Kate Bush, Fiona Apple and Joni Mitchell. And PJ Harvey, Marianne Faithfull, Emmylou Harris, Patti Smith..

Now that we're revealing stuff, I must admit I also went to concerts with Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera - AND I own several Sarah Brightmann CDs.

To balance it off, I also went to concerts with Iron Maiden, Napalm Death, Anthrax, Judas Priest, Invocator, Obituary, Cannibal Corpse, Atheist, Benediction, Metallica, Mötley Crüe, Rammstein, Slayer, In flames, AC/DC, Queensryche, The black crowes, Hammerfall, Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica, Chiro Therium, Accept, Clawfinger, etc.

Never been to a classical concert, though - yet to come....
... Carla Torgerson...
