While I was browsing the intraweb for a summer job, I found out about Google Summer of Code. Does anybody here have a personal experience with this program? It sounds quite interesting to me...

I was very interested in Worldwind a while back, so I studied the source and made a proposal. I didn't get it though, and that was the only project I was really interested in.
Since then, I've found a co-op as game programmer, so I guess everything turned out ok :-)

My brother was one of the three mentors for the scummvm project. He got to review people's assigned tasks, flunk them all (nah, not really!) and then fly to California for free to attend a get-together of all the mentors in Google HQ :)

(oh, and he met Tim Schaffer and Ron Gilbert IRL!)
