This was the Christian faith some 250 years ago. While these monsters, acting on behalf of the pope, believed they were autoforgiven in heaven if only they partook in regular cannibalistic rituals (as they saw it), we atheists don't all believe in blind forgiveness.

The people who still buy in to this psychotic bullshit today deserve no more respect than you'd pay to Holocaust deniers (which is some respect, since they're human, but really, not a whole lot).

Christians today will tell you "but all the torture and stuff, that's just cause they read the bible wrong, Jesus is all about love and forgiveness". But the interesting thing about the people who say that is that they haven't actually read the bible, neither the old Nor the New Testament. Truth is it's a sick, sick, sick work of deranged stone-age propaganda (at least, we have to hope it's fiction because if it accurately describes God, then God is a psycho). Faith in Jesus isn't a virtue and it's certainly not a thing to respect. Fuckings to God.
