category: general [glöplog]
It's just me waking up too early on sunday morning or the pouet's font has become smaller?

Indeed. PS please revert to the ancient size, it's really too small like that.

I thought this was a result of me repeatedly going to bed between 3 and 4:00am in the morning.

I like it this way, but I can see why some people might have problems reading it.

i got some complaints that 9ft was fucking up display on mac firefox ever since the css update that gloom+p01 requested from me. so i changed it back to 8pt (it was 9pt on some fields and 8pt on others)

get used to beeing diferent first, then figure out if it looks better 8pt or 9pt.

use a font size in px, or set it to 8.5pt to please both opinions ;)

the issue trancends into pc vs mac font problems and firefox vs ie pixel size rendering. so whatever option i choose it'll look b0rked on some platform and some browser..

makes me wonder why standards were invented. O_o

ps: it's REALLY too small that way, the reading is totally unpleasant.

For some reason I like it this way (smaller font on MSIE which I'm using). It gives you a better overview.

maybe wouldnt be bad idea to implement script with dynamic css.. also letting user choose font size and stuff.. too bad i suck at knowing css crossplatform/browser reliability things ;) *hint hint*

keops: depends alot on monitor resolution and own eyesight, but i can understand why 9pt is alot more readable then 8pt ;P

monitor/desktop

ps: I use 1280x1024 and I don't wear glasses. But it's just too small. Compare the current font to the ones used on most websites, it's much smaller than the average font size you can find anywhere else. It produces a very unpleasant accommodation feeling when reading pouet after another website.

I'm not sure it's a good idea to make pouet's reading unpleasant for a lot of users just because 2 people complained about the layout on mac (because a few icons were not aligned?) ;)

To be broken by that piece of crap of MSIE.

Actually you should give up the sizing in pt. As I've said in another thread, MacOs considers the monitors have a physical resolution of 110dpi while most OS consider it is 96dpi, so a size in pt while not have the same px size on PC and Mac.

Ultimately you should precise an absolute size, but rather give a relative size on the BODY and let the inheritence of the CSS do the rest. That way the font will scale accordingly to the font-size set by the end user in their browser. If they are not happy, they can press Ctrl+Plus or Ctrl+Minus, or get a better browser and force the size

you should precise an absolute size = you should NOT precise an absolute size

Or [ctrl]+[+] with Mozilla/Firefox.
Ah, it was already said. Hmm... use [strg]+[+] on german keyboards. ;)
