tbh it sucks if he's in financial trouble, but I feel like he could be a bit more transparent about it, really. Why's he suddenly in such pressing financial problems? Last thing I saw of him he was surrounded by thousands of euro worth of modular gear.
I have no idea on his situation, but I'd imagine that telling people "Hey I am in a bit of a rut here, if you like my music please go buy some" is a lot easier than selling off your tools. They should be the last thing to go because they enable you to make a living in the first place.
