black 2000 final ---------------- Hello. This is fg/farb-rausch on the keys and there are a few things you should know about this demo. 1st, the original release was done in about 13 hours at the party place, so don't expect that much quality. 2nd, we thought we had to compensate for this, so a remix of the original demo by th is included. 3rd, although the party version was already quite compatible, we did some additional fixes for the final version. it *should* work on nvidia riva tnt, tnt2, geforce and geforce2-based cards, matrox g400, cards with s3 savage chipsets, and ati rage pro cards. others will probably work too, but we had no opportunity to test them. it will NOT work on 3dfx voodoo 1-3 based cards because they don't support some features that are essential for the execution of this demo (i.e., render to texture and texture sizes >256x256). we don't know about voodoo4/5 chipsets because we had no cards to test them. maybe you will have to use 16bit screenmodes or 16bit textures (try the "low texture quality" checkbox) if your videocard doesn't have enough ram installed. we're sorry, but some of our effects are quite memory intensive. in case you encounter any problems, feel free to contact us at hotline@farb-rausch.com. ---- now some facts about the demo. as i already stated in the intro- duction, we did this demo in about 13 hours, so this is by no means a representative example of what you can expect from us (although we had fun making this demo ;) th seemed to be kinda bored and decided to remix the original demo. the result is accessible via the "flavor" selector. in case you wonder, fvs32 means "farb-rausch visual system 32" and is our demosystem. some other groups will maybe use this demosystem too in the near future. in case you want to chat about fvs, are a skilled 2d/3d-artist, design, musician or coder, want to trade cocktail recipes, or plan to order us for your birthday party, feel free to contact us at fanmail@farb-rausch.com. i think i'm signing off for now. have fun, fg/farbrausch (aka ryg/witchcraft), november 2000 ---- www.farb-rausch.com if you want to stay informed about current research in sociology and anthropology. www.farb-rausch.de if you speak german /dev/null if you want to flame us because you don't like our demos, our style or our attitude. thanks.
