Running Egg 3
-------------

Each time you run Egg 3, the soundcard setup will appear. If the
autodetection works for your soundcard, you can hit enter on
"Start Egg 3" to skip the setup. No files are saved so you may run this
program directly from a CD rom.

At any time in the program, you may hit F1 for help.

Usage: egg3 [switch]

Command Line Switches:
----------------------

The following switches force Egg 3 to use bank switching code for a
particular video card. Use this if your card doesn't have VESA built in,
and you don't have a VESA driver. Note that this option has not been
greatly tested. Let me know if one of them doesn't work. You should remove
all VESA drivers before attempting to use one of these switches.

-1 Cirrus
-2 Aheadb
-3 Oak
-4 Tseng3000
-5 Tseng4000
-6 Tseng4000_w32
-7 Paradise
-8 Realtek
-9 SS24x
-10 Trident
-11 ATI1
-12 NCR
-13 Genoa
-14 Video7

-cycle This will disable the SVGA user interface and simply cycle
through each of the effects in random order. You cannot
change songs without quitting the program. All the usually
keys are available, so press F1 for help when the song is
                playing.

* ATI Mach 64 Video Card users note *

To use EGG3 without video problems, you should obtain the m64vbe.com
available on ATI's WWW and FTP sites or on compuserve. Execute the
following command line
m64vbe s vga
before running Egg 3 and you will have no problems.

VESA Troubleshooting:
---------------------
Since the Egg 2 was released, a lot of people have complained that my VESA
code did not work. It is obvious that those people do not know anything
about VESA! VESA is not the same as SVGA. VESA is a set of instructions
that allow applications to run on any video card without problems. The main
difference in video cards is the bank switching code. If you've tried
running a program that uses VESA without a proper driver, you will notice
the output only shows on the top portion of the screen. Some cards have
VESA built in, but others require a driver (TSR) to be run. Some cards may
say they are VESA compatible but really aren't, and need a driver anyways.

****IMPORTANT****
Do not use this program with UniVBE 5.1!! The mouse cursor will be drawn
incorrectly. I'm not sure of the cause yet, but it is obviously a bug in
version 5.1 since UniVBE 5.0 works fine.
