Tech notes:
About the 386:
we don't used any special 486 or pentium instruction, so, in a 386
with FPU will run... (don't try with FPU emulators...)
About the P166:
this intro uses a lot of FPU instructions. On pentiums, the FPU is
very fast, but on older machines (like 486, 386..) the FPU is very
slooooow. (the intro runs ok with an AMD 5x85-133... hmmm...a P75 ok?)
(the intro doesn't check for FPU)
About the 524k:
the intro doesn't use any dos extender, its coded in 16bit real mode.
and we don't want to use XMS (or EMS) in 4k intros. the memory
is managed without checking it.., and if you haven't the required mem...
the intro will crash or, it will crash the system when it ends.
About the fast video card:
at least a VLB or PCI card, as they can manage better 32 bit
video-access instructions
Pentium II warning:
this intro uses a lot of 16 bit code, and a lot of 8bit registers, so
don't expect a perfect performance... there will be a lot of cache
misses and AGI delays. This will slowdown a the framerate a bit...
so, don't expect a frame rate of 200 fps.
...but its better to watch it in a P-II than a 386...
