Originally meant to be a weekend project, and then became a sort-of techy playround and due to lack of time (<- yeah rite!) was delayed for about 6 months.. ..and finally the actual demo was made within a single weekend. (<- that aint a lie. Okay, the VE wasn't done within that weekend. Or cfl2. Or the DX stuff. Well, parts of it. Or the tune, but that was done on one other weekend. So everyone worked one weekend for it. Although it wasn't the same weekend. You get my drift. Right?) Requires dx6. Sorry. No dx3 here. Uses triple buffering and dx3 doesn't support getfreevidmem call, and I can't be arsed to work around that. GDI output should still work. I think. Uses 640x480x32 by default; if not found or not enough vidmem for triple buf, uses 640x480x24, then x16 and then 15.. and falls back to GDI if all this fails. Loads everything from compressed file lib, including the .xm tune. Does not save anything on hdd (ie. no temp files that is. Cheers to Guru/S2). Features rev 250 of spector's VE, which is far less buggy than the version used in Gateways. Everything is still software-rendered, so it's a bit slow-ish.. (the next demo'll be d3d) Recommended setup would prolly be about 400mhz PII with 256 megs of mem. Developed on pii266c with 128 megs. And a bloody fast vga. We don't have anything against Kiev, or Antwerp, if you're wondering. Unplanned, weekend artycrap demos, (such as this one) we however do have something against. You must be bored reading this.
