Entry name : Lucid Dream By : Digital Nerds Compo : Java demo compo As this demo utilizes Java1.2 features we would like you to show it using the Java-runtime environment from Sun's JDK1.2 in a 16 bit (565) display-depth at 640 X 480 screen-resolution. During startup the demo will detect if it's launched from a Java1.2 compatiable environment. If the environment isn't compatiable the demo will emulate Java1.2 using Java1.0 and Java1.1 features, so don't be fooled if it runs just fine (but not as fast) in Internet Explorer or Netscape. How to start the demo : 1) If you have installed the JDK from Sun then you should simply open a shell, change the directory to that of the demo and then type : "appletviewer index.html" <ENTER> and the demo will start. 2) If you have neither the JDK or the JRE from Sun then you can start the demo from Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator and the demo will then emulate the missing Java1.2 features. This is slower than if you ran it from a Java1.2 environment so please run the demo from a Java1.2 environment. Please note that during start-up the demo will inform you in the writer whether or not you're using a Java1.2 compatiable environment. Digital Nerds.
