ÝDisclaimer Ý ..(sadly enhough a must have nowadays).....................
þ Any damage done to us, your computer or yourself
during or after running this demonstration is
entirely and completely your own fault.
Ýselling rights Ý ..(we would be surprised if so, but then again :-)) .......
þ This demo is like any other, which means that it
is PD (and that stands for PUBLIC domain, not:
Payed demo), and thus no money should be charged
for spreading it all over the world. :-) ...
However, we give NO permission (unless we were
contacted first!) to spread this demo via CDROMs.
CDs like ACE, Dreams or Hornet will be allowed,
but we would like some notice and free copy
then :-) (or at least at reduced price ;-))

þ Any soundcard supported by Midas 0.6.1.
þ 8 Mb free RAM ... (6 Mb MIGHT work too)
(it should be able to run in a DOSBOX in W'95,
but why try?)
Ýhistory Ý ..(or what led up to this).................................
þ After failing to deliver a demo at Wired 96 we set
out to release something at X'97. A couple of
months, a bulk of e-mail and lots of swearing after
Wired, Orion began to take form. Based on the
Maya - Orion - Egypt mystery, we tried to develop
a script that had the possibilty to make for some
cool design but ended up making all of our lives a
misery. In the week foregoing X'97, frantic effort
was put into finishing up all the effects, at which,
of course, we failed gloriously. No tears though,
we'd have at least a couple of days at the party
itself to put things together. So we thought.
Multiple occurences of freak electric discharges,
failing network connections, unhealthy doses of
hardcore crap, serious sleep deprivation and evil
C64 sceners did their best to stop Orion from being
released. But as always, we managed and pulled this
off. Now we leave it to you, mankind, to judge our
worthiness.
Total construction time from concept to finished
product:
2.25 months (begin februari 'till april 10th)
Note: we had never coded in C/C++ before, and no
libraries were finished, so forgive us if
the demo still looks buggy and unfinished ...
Ýgreetz Ý ..(Yo Future Crew!)........................................
NOT.
In no particular order:
þ On special request:
Greet((Marijke/Klix) && (Ruben/Deiy)) = true;
þ Simm : thnx for everything ;-)
þ Sleeping Dog : thnx for pushing us into insanity ...
the demo is finished now ... so stop
whining :-)
