NOVA 2026 by DJ_Level_3/BEC^TTC |_| v1.0.0
A downright microscopic software oscilloscope!
Time to celebrate - it's finally possible to enter
executable oscilloscope music prods into parties
without wild compos, as the oscilloscope can now be
self-contained within the prod! It may bring even top
class GPUs to their knees at native resolution, but
microscope is a super high-quality oscilloscope, and
it's only 4 kilobytes! Or as low as 2 kilobytes if
it's integrated.
While microscope itself is very much restricted to
Windows only, the core shader is dead simple and can
easily be run on any system with OpenGL. Just supply
a graticule mask texture and 9600 audio samples (led
by configuration data) and let the GPU deal with the
rest. And because it's open source, improvements and
ports are easily possible, and highly encouraged!
========== Bundle Info ==========
This bundle includes two executables, as well as a
ZIP of the source code (as of v1.0.0).
"microscope-standalone-3631.exe" is the standalone
oscilloscope build, which loads a .wav file from
disk and plays it live.
"ready+microscope-15905.exe" is our demo that won
the Wild compo at Revision 2026 ("Ready?") with
microscope integrated.
"microscope-source.zip" is the source code. The exes
above were linked from said code using Crinkler
v3.0a, which you'll need to source yourself.

p.s. If you want a software oscilloscope that doesn't
perform terribly, and a synthesizer for making
oscilloscope music, you should check out Sosci
and osci-render by James H. Ball. They're also
open source, but they're much more cross-platform
and high performance. James charges for compiled
binaries, and I advocate for paying, because he
has put his heart and soul into those projects.
