some info:
------- note, the end scroller may piss up with way too slow and way too
fast processors. ESCape skips anyways, what ever is the name of
the case. some synchros may also suck with slower computers and
in computers with slow harddisk(s).. it loads data while the
"parts" so it may cause some delays incase you have slow devices.
this demonstration was optimized to run properly on a amdk5/133
but should do fine even with a lame intel chipset.
usage:
------- do not run under windows (even 95, or if you do, give all the
resources for this demo [sounds may and WILL suck incase you
have soundblaster card in your use])
remember your soundcard environment settings. the musicplayer
will detect ULTRASND and BLASTER environments if available and
use soundcard as they are set. if you have both, GUS and SB,
we will use GUS. be sure the settings are right. if you don't
have a soundcard, or your environment variables are forgotten
or set wrong, nosound mode will be executed. (not guaranteed it
really works:))
requirements:
------- a pentium class computer is highly recommented. this WILL run
somehow even on a 386, but requires a lot of power, so it
will be slow. pentium/120+ is highly recommented.
standard vga monitor with capability to handle 100percently
mode 13h is required. (mode 13h, 320x200c256) if you watch this
from a big screen, be sure to set the rgb-colours bright enough,
because the background effect and the objects on the screen
have _quite_ a contrast and it may screw seriously some things
up.
about 590kb of free conventional memory. if you have xms and
ems installed, they will be used.
gravis ultrasound 256kb is required, but please use atleast
512kb card so it won't screw up. we also support sound blasters,
but if you have possibility to use a GUS, please do so. SB
player requires XMS and EMS, GUS player will use XMS incase it
needs some.
dos is the best alternative in operation systems, but should
also work under windows95.. only some bugging in playback with
SB has been reported under win95, but who uses SB nowadays
anyways?-)
