Overclocked Palladium Lif3forms Celebrating human imagination on the upcoming Flat Earth Day ftx/kolor revision 2026 Notes on running this entry: Uses DOSBox-X and Nuked OPL3 specifically. Requires fixed 71240 cycle count and runs at 1600x1200 screen resolution. This intro has been timed to run for exactly one minute (but music never stops). To do this, the cycle count needs to be set to 71240 which is the value of the Pentium 133 mhz config in DOSBox-X. This is very important, since the entry uses the Nuked OPL3 emulation which (on my system at least) causes stuttering, if the cycle count is set too high, since Nuked is running cycle-accurate on the main thread. Nuked is required over fast emulation to get the right evolving sound, other OPL3 emulation modes will not work at all. Also, since the amount of pixels drawn varies over time, the exact cycle count is needed to cover full buildup and release of the intro during the allowed running time, the sound is intentionally noisy and "OPL-choppy" at places, but it should be clearly noticeable if there are dropouts right from the start that are caused by Nuked running too slowly. I developed this on a Macbook Pro M1 (2021), so the intro has been calibrated to this (with about 20-20% cycle headroom, as audio starts to be choppy at about 95000 cycles), but obviously metrics can vary a bit on PC.
