CERIUM
A music "disk" for MSX. 28 years after "Pure", Omega created this new collection of
bass pounding EDM tracks for the Yamaha OPL4 chip. This time without any size
restrictions: maximum use of the 16 bit PCM capabilities of the chip. Omega started
the first tracks in December 2024. At Outline 2025, Zett and Omega drew the first
sketches for the gfx, and now it's all done!
Some tracks need more OPL4 RAM than others. For non-MSX afficionados:
you can compare this to Amiga's chipmem: memory local to the OPL4 chip. This is
not directly accessible from the CPU, so data needs to be uploaded. To speed up this
process the loader takes advantage of a faster cpu: 5, 7MHz Z80 or R800 recommended!

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Extract the Cerium folder from the archive to your favorite MSX storage device,
SD or CF card, and insert it in your Nextor-compatible multi/flashcartridge.
Boot in MSX-DOS 2 (or Nextor). Execute cerium.com. Receive party.
Alternatively you can insert the files into an hd image for use in an emulator like OpenMSX.
Make sure the hardware is configured correctly. In OpenMSX you could choose the machine
'Boosted MSXturboR' but you'd still have to edit moonsound.xml to set it's RAM to 2048kB.
