- 386 or better processor (386DX40 will do fine)
- VGA graphic card (the faster one the better)
- HIMEM.SYS memory manager loaded !
- no other protected mode programs loaded. that means this demo will NOT
work with some lame memory managers like EMM386 or QEMM.
- dos version 5.0 or more
- 4 megabytes of memory (actually about 450k low mem and 3000K XMS)
þ Technical info
- all code is about 11000 lines of pure assembly language
- all music was sampled in 22KHz 8bit and packed with amazing Musashi's
sample packer called Quantic, it gives packing ratio 32:9,
sample packer uses centroids algorithms for vector quantization
- sample is depacked realtime and played through DMA
- all demo was coded in one week (7 days! yeah!) in mind boiling
temperature of 40øC!
- all raytracing was done on LightWave on Amiga 1200
- Musashi's vector part was originally written by him on Amiga
and translated from Motorola to Intel assembly by him in two days
