THE INTRO:
This 64k intro was made for the mekka'96 intro competition.
It won the first price: we thank all who voted for us.
The intro was not meant to have any name, but since the
organizers needed a name for the entry except xxx.exe, we
renamed it to essence.exe. Here is the final version now.
Sorry for all bugs in the soundblaster support, but it should
work fine now. The option "soundblaster emulation" treats your
soundcard like a SB 1.0. Use this if the "100% compatible" option
does not work. We recommend a 486dx4/100 but if you have a 486/33
you shouldn't miss watching it.
THE MAKING:
It took about 4 month to make the texture mapping engine.
All code, including the player, was made by Digisnap. The
sound is the work of Mefis. Desert made the logo. He was
unfortunately a bit short of time so we had to use
the textures from Descent. The weekend before Mekka we
added a little bit design to the more or less "dry" routine.
CREDITS:
The intro uses Tran's PMode 2.51, which seems indeed bug-free.
All textures are ripped from Descent (Interplay/Parallax Software).
We hope they don't mind :)
The level was made with Devil by Achim Stremplat.
