REAL sorry about no GUS support, but when I can finally get hold of one down here in the bush, I'll be able to code something... POSSE is MeltDown's first ever demo. It has taken us about 3 months to produce, and since our first demo is a Trackmo (mostly) it has taken a HELL of a lot of HARD, ball-breaking and finger-stiffening work, as well as costing us a full year of sleep after 3 months. So we are all gonna die 10 years earlier because of the stress. If POSSE freezes in the beginning, you need more BASE Memory (615Kb). (Sorry about the real-mode limits -- speak to Bill Gatus of Borg about that one). If the tracker has bad quality (crackling) on your sound card, sorry, but Creative Labs didn't correctly make SB16 and higher fully downward compatible. It works gr8 on my SBPro, but I didn't have time to change the DMA routine to autoinit. MOST of POSSE was coded by lsd in 1« weeks, with 4 hours of sleep and 10 tons of coffee a day, excepting for the last 3 days before and at the show in which I got ABSOLUTELY no sleep (yes, sleep is important to coders!). Most of the effects were just improvements on old work that we had done, but as we have never made a demo before, we had to figure out how to put everything together. This meant that we would finish a major part and then have huge problems integrating it, causing us to modify parts of the code and soon the code got so messy that I gave up on adding in finishing touches and new effects. So, LOOK OUT FOR OUR NEXT DEMO!!!! Flash will be leaving very soon for New Zealand. They are gonna gain a great coder. :ù< Contact us: - lsd - name: Mark Webster voice: +27 31 299 089 e-mail: centri@iafrica.com (make it out to mark or lsd) snail: 32 Frere Road Glenwood Durban 4001 Republic of South Africa Greetz JNZ to: Dr D DESRAiD Jizlobber RaW NeRvE! Here's why: At 6:00AM on the day of Dexterity 94, GUESS WHAT!!! YES!!! MY HARD DRIVE CRASHED!!! HOURS AND HOURS OF HARD WORK, DESTROYED!!! I was......angry. Now, if you have had no sleep for 60 hours I would like to see you code most of a TrackMo back together from bits of code that you have on disk, in just a few hours (Luckily we got an extension of time until 7:00PM). So as you can guess the code for the Compo was totally buggy and sloppy, especially the Virtual Reality (which is still a piece of crud now). PPS: The age of our members are as follows: CASTOR: 17 or 18 (Koreans have different age calculation methods I think) LSD: 16 -=Flash=-: 17 Thus we are the youngest demo group I know of in South Africa. SO THERE!! C Y'ALL L8r!
