Disk Maggie 11 by Maggie Team
Escape from the Planet Testicle
Dateline 26/5/93.....
This looks like the issue of Maggie that nearly got away, it still
may get away from the Delta Force H.Q. But rather than let all
these articles go to waste, here it is, Maggie 11, the Rebel
Edition.....
These are mostly articles written during the last quarter of 1992,
including a lot of anguish expended on the No.1 subject,, the
Atari Falcon... Why, when, what to have for dessert, who is your
uncle and what is he doing with that chainmail bodystocking???
There are some new articles too, including the very latest Falcon
software list, which now manages an impressive eighty-plus items..
These are OFFICIAL and in writing, and are not merely tall stories
or Bulletin Board Rumours... Of these, twenty are games, the
majority of the others are creative packages of the sort that
fully justify a 32-bit computer with a DSP, there are rendering
packages due that use the DSP for calculations, I personally
cannot wait until 'Eclipse', the new game by Eclipse is ready, as
this promises to use the DSP and true-colour texture-mapped
graphics!!!
Anyway, read on....
Bollocks on what I am doing this minute???? Trying to watch Sean
Bean in a period costume drama jobbie where it is written in his
contract that he strips down to waist level every seven minutes...
(This original draft on the 12/5/93..)
Also trying to write this as well... (Slowly)
You will be pleased to find the first Falcon stuff on Maggie, with
the various versions of 'Falcboot' which let you turn off bits of
your Falcon that get in the way of behaving like the good ol' (Yes
indeed, old!) ST that you knew..
The other program for the Falcon, a demo program which can use the
DSP chip (If present) for ultra-fast fractal calculations... It
takes eight seconds with the DSP, a lot longer with just an ST..
(Yes it will work on any ST, TT. or Falcon..)
The stunning Pro-Tracker has now reached version 2.0, with an STE
version that can play at the magic 50khz, and a STFM version which
is not too bad either, loads of new options, and the chance to do
some very weird things with the menu...
Furthermore, MUG UK's Multi-Depacker version 2.0. (A bit old by
now, but still useful..) And a very idiosyncratic debut into
unusual STE codes by a good friend, of mine (Puts on Jimmy Tarbuck
voice..)
