│ Starcraft: Brood War continues the saga of galactic warfare as │
│ the Zerg, Protoss and Terrans struggle for their continued survival. │
│ With the shattered Zerg hive torn apart by fierce in-fighting, the │
│ Protoss seek to reunite with their Dark Templar brethren and begin │
│ the rebuilding of their homeworld, Aiur. Terran Emperor Mengsk I, │
│ having achieved his goal of total power over the human colonies, │
│ must now turn his attention to both the rising power of the woman │
│ he betrayed-- Kerrigan, the infamous Zerg Queen of Blades-- and │

│ Ripped: Movies, speech and music. The music was identical to Starcraft, │
│ the movies are MASSIVE and the speech is not required. No │
│ addons are planned for this release. │
│ │
│ To install the game, simply unzip all of the files into a temporary │
│ directory, and run INSTALL.EXE. │
│ │
│ Click on the appropriate icon to run Starcraft: Brood War (BROOD.EXE │
│ for the command line phreaks). If you really, really, really want │
│ to unACE this thing manually, you'll need to run the SETUP.EXE in │
│ the Brood War directory after unACEing, and enable Speech Subtitles │
│ manually in the Game Options. │
│ │
│ If for some reason the virtual loader patch (BROOD.EXE) does not work │
│ for you, run BROOD-C.EXE to hard-patch the game, then run STARCRAFT.EXE │
│ to play...if you hard-patch the game, chances are that muliplayer will │
│ NOT work for you. │
│ │
│ Connections to Blizzard's BATTLE.NET is NOT supported in this release, │
│ though rumor has it there are BATTLE.NET simultator servers out there │
│ you can use...all other multiplayer functionality is there. │
