Atari behn - trist mix by Ephidrena
>>> ephidrena finally presents <<< <<< >>> >>> atari behn - trist mix <<< Well, what can we say? It's done. And about damn time too. This version should run on all Falcons, from 4MB and up.It now also supports RGB monitors flatpanels, fastram, ++ ... The high detail mode was made for the CT60, but might be nice for CT2 users etc. aswell. CT60 users are reccomended to run with "Sync to VBL" enabled. Running it on a 4MB Falcon will usually cause it to load half of the MP2 at a time, giving a small pause in the demo, but it shouldnt be too noticable. The 75Hz mode was designed for my flatpanel, but hopefully its useful for other screens aswell. The MultiSync mode is not implemented yet, but the button is there for future use. Also, be careful to use a monitor that supports the refresh rate you select. Please dont blow up your monitor. You have been warned! (RGB 75/100 doesnt exist, and will default to 50Hz) It must be said that even tho its basically the same demo that was released at MS2002, we are quite a bit more satisfied with it now. Some fx have been slightly changed and hopefully you can agree its for the better... ;) The filesize of the demo is down by a few megs, alltho the music was changed to MP2 from MOD. It was remixed by Frequent, and can also be made available as High Quality MP3 for those interested. More about that from the Man himself later. The main reason for the smaller size is the animation system was heavily improved, and now features RLE packing and more. This also results in proper framerates while playing them (there are 3, can you spot them?;) Our next Atari prod will be pure CT60 madness! God natt! NervE, AltParty Finland 2004 --------------------------------------- And now its Frequent writing here at AltParty. While listening to some music from the stage, i will tell a bit about the remixing process. Since the first version of the tune was an 8 channel mod file, I thought about putting 16 bits samples inside the tune. So, after working with Reason for a while I had the sounds I needed. Unfortunately, it meant that we had to save the tune as MP2 instead. But the demo ran faster on a stock Falcon with the MP2, so why not use use 1.6 megs of space innstead of 250k? :) The tune was finished after some days of work during the summer 2003. NervE had a bit more things to work with, so it took a bit of time. But finally we're done. Time for some greetings to various groups and people we know on different platforms.
