The Fly by Nesnausk! [web]
"THE FLY", a realtime demo from team Nesnausk! ImagineCup 2004 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ABOUT "The Fly" is a non-interactive demo program that displays real-time 3D graphics and plays music. The demo consists of mostly organic scenes, some animations and graphics effects. TheFly.exe launches the demo. Graphics effects are: bump (normal) mapping, depth-of-field, anisotropic fur rendering, multi-layered terrain, projected shadows and iridescent/translucent wings. Fallback paths exist for pre-DX9 hardware, with some or most of the effects turned off. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- REQUIREMENTS * DirectX 9.0b runtime installed * Something like a 1.5GHz CPU * Video card with 64MB RAM and: - has pixel shaders 2.0 - all ok - has pixel shaders 1.1 - some effects turned off - has no pixel shaders - most effects turned off A fast video card (eg. Radeon 9600XT) is recommended, for slower ones use 800x600, 640x480 or some other low resolution. * Somewhat recent video card drivers. Tested and seems to work on: - Radeon 9800Pro, 9600Pro, 9600, 9200, 9000Pro. - GeForce FX5900XT, FX5200, 4Ti4200, 4MX440, 2MX400. Some say it even works on Intel Extreme Graphics, but we wouldn't count on that :) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- CREDITS The Fly is done by: Aras "NeARAZ" Pranckevicius nearaz@centras.lt Paulius "OneHalf" Liekis onehalf@takas.lt Big thanks to IJO for the music. A: Install DirectX 9 runtime. Q: It says "no compatible D3D devices found"! A: Your video card must be really old. Sorry :) Q: It has weird noisy things on the screen, or everything is blurred! A: We suspect a driver bug. Try updating your video card drivers.
