█████ █████ █ █ █████ █ █ █ █ ██ █ █ █████ █ █ █ █ █ █ ██ █ █ █ █ ██ █ █ █ █████ █ █ █████ v1.0 By Jason Maas INTRODUCTION -=-=-=-=-=-= Don't worry, these docs are short so you might even want to read them. =) RUNNING PONG -=-=-=-=-=-= To run the game just type 'PONG <ENTER>' at the DOS prompt. If you're Winblows or some other stuff like that, stop. They don't help anyways. BTW, the file 'FONT66' is necessary for the text in the game so don't delete it! Minimum Requirements: Some sort of PC, I tested an 8088 with MCGA and it ran fine (a bit slow but acceptable.) Also a VGA card (or MCGA) is required for graphics. Finally, about 35 or so kilobytes of storage space and a keyboard are necessary. Recommended Setup: A 486 of some sort and a good video card and monitor. Also any Adlib compatible sound card will make things much more enjoyable. PLAYING PONG! -=-=-=-=-=-=- Hit any key to stop the nifty title screen and then follow the obvious instructions from then on. In case you don't notice the Escape key quits at any time during play and the F1 key brings up the Options Menu (effectively pausing the game.) The controls are explained in the game. HINT: There are cheat keys, are you clever enough to find them? FEATURES -=-=-=-= - At some of the higher difficulty levels the ball is mysteriously transported into an alternate dimension for a short period of time occasionally. This feature is included to make the game more challenging and interesting. - If you are quick enough a seemingly hopeless situation can be changed into one where the ball is saved from sure death at the last moment. STORY -=-=- Pong! was developed in about one week give or take for a school programming project. It is written almost entirely in C with a small amount of assembly. It was written at the end of my High School Junior year (school's out now) and I'm 17 years old.
