2. Requirements
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

   Pentium II / 64 mb / Voodoo or equivalent

   Win32, (DirectX 6.1 || DirectX 7.0)

   We're currently working on porting our demo system over to Linux. We might
   release a linux version of Platipus at some point.

   To view Platipus as it was intended to (fullscreen) you'll need a second
   generation 3d accelerator card. To speed it up you can always run it on
   a window at a lower res (assuming it's not CPU-limited).

   Platipus should auto-detect your 3d hardware. You can run Setup.exe if you
   encounter any problems or to select a 3d device (don't select software
   emulation). Setup.exe will create a .cfg file on your HD.

   Platipus has been tested on the following hardware:

       -g400: ok, very slight glitches at the beginning
       -i740: ok
       -Voodoo 1,2,3: ok
       -TNT 1,2: ok
       -GeForce: rulez, and worked fine.
       -ATI Rage Fury: very very glitchy. Can't fix this as we haven't got
                       one of these bad boys. Probably not worth the
                       the download if you've only got one of these.

   If your card isn't here it doesn't neccessarily mean it won't work, it
   just means we didn't get a chance to try one. Similarly, we can't
   guarantee that it'll work on your machine just because you've got one of
   the 'working' cards on the list.

   Note: The OpenGL drivers haven't been fully tested, they're a Beta version.
	 We'll release them soonly in www.incognita-hq.com

3. Known Bugs
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

   Some effects are time-dependant.

   We've worked hard to eliminate all possible bugs in this demo, but there
   may well be some left.
   If you find any, please drop us an email.

4. How to fuck up a demo
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

   The demo was finished twelve hours before the deadline (no, really :) and
   uploaded using the Zepo system as we were told. Later on, out of boredom,
   we added some minimal improvements and uploaded a new exe file (a
   feature supported by Zepo), specifying that these files should be
   uncompressed over the old version. So, these leaves us with two files, one
   containing a perfectly working version of the demo and the other one
   containing a newer version of the exe.

   The organizers then proceeded to unzip the files on different directories,
   and tried to run the second exe on the directory by itself. They ignored
   all the error messages saying ".dat missing" "dll missing" and didn't even
   bother to call us through the loudspeakers.
   They didn't even bother to run the first .exe, which a few minutes after
   the compo was shown on the big screen (out of competition). We chose to
   release Platipus at the Assembly99 anyway, because it had been conceived
   for that party.

5. What is the Platipus?
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

	* Time Room

		Shows previous effects from other demos, a brief walk through
                our history.

	* Space

		Procedural planets with dynamic LOD (level of detail) system.

	* Dragon

		Procedural terrain with dynamic LOD (level of detail) system.
		3d volumetric fog.

	* Ray Tracing

		Finally our full-blown ray tracing engine is here. New features
		include volumetric objects.

	* Temple+Greets

                10,000 polys.

	* Girl

		Strange cube thingy and nice picture by Naku. Very special
                thanks go to him.
