Notes:
1) Windows defender cracks it over the exe due the exe packer (squishy)
2) This is a multi-threaded software renderer, fiddle about with the threads param in the config file for optimum performance. (which will prolly be the number of AVX units in your CPU + 1)
3) Each effect is basically structured like a shader, with the rendering of each pixel being independent from the others. CPU based shaders are alot slower than GPU shaders. Next time, I'll just use GPU shaders.
4) This was intended to be a 64k, but I didn't want to potentially get a musician on board, then come up short. So I hunted around for some audio to use, found some numbers station audio, and used that. The visuals were quite influenced by https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-TBkDDl6Fg
5) Audio is just one big WAV file, which is compressed with pulsejet. I'm certain this is not the intended usage of pulsejet.
6) Pre the numbers station audio the effects were alot slower, and they were sped up to fit with the briefer time they were on screen.
7) All the effect are basically either points or lines with a 1/dist in intensity. I need to get a new shtick.
8) I apologise to the audience for the last 4 secs, the speakers were quite loud. Did get a Sensible Chuckle out of cTrix diving for the fader at the end.
9) However the version played at the party just played a WAV file from disk, I didn't make you guys sit through the depacking. So there is that.
10) Thanks to James for letting us play the demo on his laptop for the compo, and the Syntax orgs for the party.
11) and Kitsch so I wasn't the only one entering the compo.
