Great depth and lighting.
While the procedurally generated low poly trees may not have worked as well as I hoped, I did pour all my surplus time and effort into this production during this summer. First I learned wgpu, then implemeted my first deferred lighting, shadow mapping, sphere tracing etc. rendering pipeline with it.
It took my entire summer vacation to get the meshes and surfaces, lighting, cameras, color and pacing done in time for Assembly. And I feel very much burnt out by all the work and very little external reward.

Clearly a lot of effort has been put into this demo! Technical kudos for you to make it with wgpu (+Rust?), and also have the traced stuffs seamlessly combined with the polygon scenes. And I liked the visual style of the lowpoly forest, giving old-school vibes with the square perfect shadows. Plus proper god rays like here are always great :).
Keep it up and pour some more kicking effects with particles, physics , procedural meshings etc applied in creative ways and you'll have more ultra cool demos!

Props for putting all the technical work here, I think the result is visually really solid and could've been placed higher in the competition as well. And do feel proud about the effort, I think it is really well balanced and beautiful so I think it has been time well spent! Looking forward to see the next one.
