Great tune and pacing there, but I'm gonna have to quote an anonymous Complex member from Abduction'94: "Munaton miäs, Jugi taas piirtäny" :)
don't make me cry
best of the compo i think... ermmm..... music is awesome!
I am a sucker for this king of music and Neon..
But this kind of music usually doesnt win any compo although it's THAT good!
MFX, never stop releasing please!

nice stuff, but a couple of more scenes would've been good, parts felt too long.
I decided to dedicate a permanent Chrome tab to this after the Gazebo quote. Finally a proper (suomen)italodisco awesomeness!
Thanks for warm comments everyone. This was the most interesting and long lasting demoscene project I have ever been involved in.
Uncle-X is a demo god.

Very Nice Out of Space Demo. 😁
noice
purple demo continuum
what nosfe said, dragging out already quite cliché visuals kinda goes stale fast :D i did like the ending/greetings part... reminds me of old DOS demos that had such reprise endings :P
made me breathless.. the demo has a good flow and nice music.
what a beauty...

Way too long for my taste but still good.
Made with "cables.gl" whatever the fuck that is. Another lame demomaker tool. Go to the wild compo.
Also incredibly mediocre even if it was a real demo.
Maybe dragged on a bit, but very enjoyable demo anyway.
Was it vulgar on purpose ?
@Nuclear
Please have some fucking respect for the effort even if you hate product, we spent dozens and dozens of hours over three months creating this demo.
@Hitchhikr
No, absolutely not, in fact it's a love story between two characters meeting on a dancefloor. The skin textures synced with music would have look less good if they covered by clothes, don't you agree :-)

obviously a huge amount of effort and lots of high quality visual work (both in terms of technical prowess and design effort), but the style just isn't my thing at all
would've also laid off the amount of glare much lower, since it was honestly obscuring a lot of otherwise more interesting visual detail

Great visuals and music. Italo never gets old :)
Some nice stuff in this one, although a bit on the long side. Lovely music!
@The_Hooligan respect in demos is earned in code.

You should try doing some then.

disrespect and the asshole label are earned by writing arrogant, obnoxious pouet comments on the other hand
Wasn't expecting something like this when I started attending the Dreams of Neon nights over a decade ago :) Good work guys! Salty haters are best left ignored as always.
Will have to agree with noby on both counts. This demo is obviously a work of tremendous effort, but it didn't click with me. Mostly it was the pacing.
As for the engine argument, it's getting old. If everyone had to do all their tools by themselves, the amount of 1ks and 4ks would drop to single digits per year and no-one wants that.

Coolio!
good stuff
nice track and nice idea with simply going for a music video vibe. but the visuals are a bit bland overall. or maybe it is just a bit of too much neon, who knows. oink.
@Gargaj you seem confused.
Yeah, it's a bit dragged out.
I'm not automatically averse to repetition. I know Uncle-X isn't. He has made some damn impressive demos made all the more powerful by the way they linger on scenes and effects, driving them through with a combination of finesse and obstinate force. Demos that leave you wanting more.
I didn't find myself wanting more halfway through this demo. Maybe the aesthetic just isn't for me, but I didn't feel like the repetitive approach works here. There simply wasn't anything left to experience.
Solid work and obvious heaps of effort, though. Not to mention that it's still a hell of a lot more interesting than a Sierpinski screensaver, which is apparently the only thing some fundamentalists manage to produce in a timespan of 15 years.

Fundamentalist demo coders! One to remember :D
For my zoomer brain this demo was too long and slow. I did enjoy the soundtrack though, at least until it started to feel repetitive. Visuals/animation etc looked great. I'm also tempted to judge demotools&engines but I'm trying to make my peace with it, because UE, Notch and cables (etc.) are raising the bar which is good overall even though it makes the compos harder for "organic/whole-code" graphics porogrammers.
Well, if you're doing it to win, you should understand you're not entitled to win on your own terms, and use whatever tools the rules allow. And if you're building your own engine for fun - and I've been on the Internet enough to know that people who work on their own engines don't always actually release anything - it shouldn't matter how "hard" the compos are because you're not doing it to win. Right?
I liked many things in this demo, like when the characters start to jam dance, flashy but sharp lens flares, how the bg's + surfaces are nicely getting the emissive stripes etc coming up (+quite dope subsurf thingy on the fellows shown for a short moment in the middle) and also the ending was a cool surprise.
But I would have loved to see the characters actually play the melodies on the keyboards, have less of the very small scale blur glow (ofc I understand it makes part of the synthwavy looks here) and couple of minutes could have definitely been cut out from this demo (or more content if kept this length 8) ).
Nevertheless, a solid dreams of neon demo it is - and well deserved the place in the top3 of the compo :). I'm also happy you left some room for improvement in this one as the competition was tight enough already :D.

this demo achieves to be exactly what it wants to be - it turns the italo-disko/synthwave knob to overdrive - to a satirical level at times.
it's the synthwave demo to end them all - crammed with all expected clichees to the max.
only complaints are the repeating dance moves and sometimes questionable camera-angles. killer.

Yep
Boobs and butts, something for everyone. :)
Look, I loved Ion Traxx, which was a tribute to '90s VHS techno CGI videos. But I'm not sure this is a "tribute" to synthwave/vaporwave in the same way, or just cliche to the point of satire, like Eternal Dream of Beauty. At least Ion Traxx had variation, this is mostly the same scene and animations for the entire duration. It just doesn't feel.. creative, provocative, or like MFX to me.

Incredible! loved the final scene with the volumetric light and greetings
