fbdev in 2020

(though, norjohe could've been used to make the ELF header a bit smaller :p)

also what sensenstahl said... best in compo at 1/8th the size, no idea why this didn't take first place. don't let these faux results distract you from creating great art/prods grz !

A bit bland color-wise but the forms are great and it's evocative. Nice one!

@porocyon great tool! down to 453b by nuking the ELF header (didn't test tho) :) somehow wanted to do the same by hand but didn't bother, can be down some more by dropping open / mmap and just have a write to stdout

@baah IFS yea

hmmm I suppose you could do a dup2() /dev/fb0 to stdout/stderr which would still leave the fbdev ioctls available, and then you could use a single write(2) buffer for the entire framebuffer which gets written and then seeked back to 0 every frame... not sure if this is worth it over just a single mmap() call. dropping floats and changing to fixed-point integer stuff might get you more though :p

also nice that you could get norjohe to actually work, that codebase is incredibly cursed
