Great little shmup! Awesome music & art, really polished, ton of display options. Big props for the OS/X release too.
menu works with cursor keys and enter, no music(don't know if there should be?!)
ingame has music(kicks hitter is way too loud for the mix) but only quit game works, can't control the ship with any keys or mouse.
polished? can't it is.
osx 10.10.5

^^ Arrow keys / z + x work for me. You could try turning off 'controller input' in the options menu, but I didn't need to. I'm on 10.9.5 if that makes any difference.
Thanks for pointing out that the kick is way too loud, now I can't un-hear it. :P

Props for getting the caravan genre right. Hoping to see more from you!
As old-fashioned as they come, but very well executed. Music, graphics, gameplay. The cw/ccw feature let's you play the game as a side scroller. My only gripe is that you can't config the input keys: 'y' and 'z' are pretty far from each other on German keyboard layouts (so WIN+SPACE to switch to EN layout on Windows).
I believe the CW/CCW option is for pivotable displays, so you can play in vertical fullscreen (aka. tate mode) like in an arcade cab. Good attention to detail right there, btw.
Niiiice! @moozooh, any further links / examples? I'm intrigued by this caravan genre I've never heard of.
Quite a funny game.
Please make the gamepad work in the menu.

@Fell, caravan mode is a concept in shoot-'em-ups where you have to aim for maximum score in a timed stage (2, 3, or 5 minutes are common). Survival difficulty is often relaxed—some games even give you unlimited lives in caravan modes—but maxing-out the score can be quite difficult. You'd often get bonuses for speedkilling, scenery destruction bonuses, pickup bonuses, etc., which put all together basically necessitate learning the stage completely by heart, and then executing the route flawlessly. These games and modes were typically made for competitions so you'd find them among home console releases most of the time.
Obvious examples are Hudson's Star Soldier series (the original game made Takahashi Meijin and his 16 presses per second a nationwide meme in Japan in late 80s) and Summer Carnival series by other developers (of which SC '92 Recca is perhaps the most prominent—check it out! Its main developer went on to create one of the most innovative shmups in history, Battle Garegga, in 1996). One of the more modern shmups that include a caravan mode is Cave's Dangun Feveron (aka. Fever SOS, released in 1998) which recently got a brilliant rerelease on the PS4.
Also, congratulations to the authors for the well-deserved victory!

Very nice shooter, controls very well, it's smooth.
At first I wondered why time over as it's a shoot em up where you can't speedrun yourself, it just scrolls.
Ok, I read about the caravan concept.
But I would think there are bonuses that gives you additional time.

By default it'd shoot and bomb, without moving, I just unplugged my pad to make it work (maybe should have plugged in a stick though)... but oh my it plays well, nice stage design with all the subtle traps and it definitely feels like there's some depth built into the scoring and power up systems too. Only played it enough to barely beat the default score, but will definitely have to play more seriously later. :)
Wow, what a great shooter. It seems you were inspired by Truxton 1+2, Vimana and lot of other vertical arcade shooters. This game has my favourite style of graphics and gameplay. Would like to see more levels, or a concept with lives instead timer. A real gamedev winner.
^ at least 4 or so more levels are in the works and/or done.
Pretty fun! I wish it lasted longer.
shmup +1
fastpaced action +1
os-x port +1
I really like some of the sound fx, i.e. power up.

By far the most thought out and best-looking product in the category this year. Deserved victory.
isn't this too overkill to be a demoscene gamedev prod? :)
