It crashes my XP.
(sorry, couldn't resist)

The music isn't that good (i hate ice-cream-commercial-jungle, especially when its out of tune). the colours are quite bad and the design is from 199x...

i'll give it a pig for being a 'first'

It crashed after 10 seconds (the tunnel scene) on my Win98se.

I couldn't get the sound working either...

now I have seen this with working sound under win98, and I must say that I was a bit disappointed :/
The music was kinda nice, but it didn't seem to have any sync with the scenes.

An okay text-mode demo.
Some nice scenes (I liked the landscape, and the leaf), good music. It's been said before, but music synching would have made this 2x as good.

Blah. There _is_ music sync, it's just not very obvious. ;-P

didn't really like the scenes and the music was.. well pathetic. comparing to superkiller and contact this was just crap.

Neat stuff! Nice gfx, nifty code, sweet music.
Some critics:
- The tunnel and the cylinder alternates for too long
- The leaf was too flickering
- A tad slow.

Finally I could run it in my PC
Very nice green nature scenes, cool textmode graphics, cool ideas and nice fitting music. Nice work DiamonDie :)

Yup, there's a problem on some win9x systems which is easily solved: create a .bat file to call the demo proggie, then go to its properties and set fullscreen, 50 lines. It won't crash anymore if run through the .bat file. It's actually your graphic card's fault. If music doesn't work - you're a lamer, it does. And yes, the demo is synched to a windows timer, not to the music. It should get better in the next one if it ever gets ready, as well as the music itself. And believe noone that the code is slow: it is fast enough for a crappy PMMX Notebook! The next demo would be less optimized though.

I liked the leaf, didn't seemed ugly to me, afteralls it's not so easy to do it viewable with this blocky resolution ;P

midiclub, its textmode demo dammit, it should run in full speed on 286 if its fast enough! and why should someone be lamer if there is no sound caused by lame coding? finally go stick your bat file up your ass

I'd like to see a Windows textmode demo that runs on a 286. :-P

I don't remember having seen any text mode demo running in my 286, however I beleive that they should run fast enough in such small resolution! (at least the DOS ones)

raveroza: fuckyou! I hadn't written it. Fizzy had to be smart about hardware blitting in textmode, which causes the incompatibility. Different init/blitting code is run, dependant on the OS, which is evil all by itself. I was going to do a "correct" port, but since i'm not with Numedia Cyclops any longer, i'm not really interested. Besides, the "right" code shows a mouse pointer, while Fizzies wizardry hides it! ;)

There is nothing wrong with sound code, since we used a well-known player here. If someone has a problem, he can try the newer FMOD.DLL or check the usual cables&levels stuff.

there is nothing wrong with the sound code, yet half the people complain about the lack of music? :)
Interesting music combined with some nice and many horrible graphics. What a rape...

come on. with textmode you SHOULD be able to optimize it more. and fix vretrace flickering. and produce more beautiful effects.
