Oh man this has so much potential but it just needs a lot of polishing. The camera paths are not good and clip through the trees. You have a fancy skybox but the lighting on the mountains is really flat since the light source is occluded the entire time and there is no variation in the ambient lighting. Just a simple static cube map as a lookup for ambient light would be easy to implement and stop everything from looking so flat. The typeface is hard to read. I feel like a few changes could be made to make this much better.

Also seems like a jpg image has been uploaded as the nfo.

For a first + one-man prod, I thought with warts and all it was super impressive.

Indeed it needs lot of polishing. Here is the story:

After ~40 hours of constant development (without a single minute of sleep) there was only 3 or 4 hours until the deadline. I was like "Ok, just put together a very basic .exe prototype, which has a basic music included, and which runs right from the start to the end. ~4 hours will be enough to:
- finalize the music (put some fancy effect on the main theme only to make it more various.)"
- add some extra fairies to the final scene
- add much-much more clouds to the final scene
- add an extra philosophical-textured-mesh to the final scene, and put the fairies around it
- finalize lights and camera effects."

So I took a big breath and right before the above listed final work I've created a ~60MB basic, prototype .exe build from the existing project.

"Good stuff" - I said, now let's final-polish this whole thing.

And here was that point where the disaster kicked in:

I've changed the music, added some effects to the main theme -> the .wav file's size increased some KBs (not MBs). Anyways I've created a build only to make sure that I'm still below the 64MB limit.

...after adding this few KBs of music effects to the wav file the output .exe files's size became around ~90MB.

I was like "WHHAAAATTT? :-OOOOO No way.
Let's create another build!"

The .exe file's size was around 150MB this time. :-OOOO

Performed another 4 or 5 builds and the size of the output .exe kept growing. The compressor app or something around the linker went wrong, I didn't know... There was not enough time to debug the situation AND finalize the demo...

I almost crashed...
"...this much work for NOTHING.
...How to even go to the party in this situation?"

As I can remember I've kept my face in my palms for ~15 minutes or something like this...

Big breath.

I've stood up, I copied the very-basic-prototype to a flashdrive and went to the party with huge disappointment and dark disillusions in my heart.

However:
-------------

This day was a roller-coaster-like influence for me, since I went to the party in a dark mood and left the party with the biggest-joy-ever since the organizer team gave me the newcomer-award, which was an enormous and magnificent recognition for all my work and efforts. :-D

So thank you for all the members of the organizer team.
Huge and unforgettable parties year-after-year!

==================================

Also please welcome this product, since there is a lot of work in it, and some bright particles of my hart as well.

Thank you.

Thanks for sharing the story behind this demo. It is always easy to judge a demo more harshly based on it's appearance without any context of what went into making it happen. Sounds like you had a lot of struggles, welcome to demo making! I look forward to seeing what you make next.
