Unreal: ah, if there was even only one _normal_ music editor for TED!! :( You might change Your mind. ;)
Or a neat engine similar to those made for ZX48 by Shiru (with composing music in MilkyTracker with a fast conversion of notes from samples into synthetix.
But - there isn't any of those.
(Still, I like the song in this demo).
YERZMEY i could image to think that this is an idea worth thinking of in order to do the next p4(not pentium) releases!

mad: yupp, it is a very comfortable way. If a musician knows certain limitations of an engine (or the chip itself) the coder even has less to do.
As for Z80 music, Shiru sampled some instruments and made a proper set of them, adding all to a small 'demo-song'. Based on this, people were making their own songs. From time to time compiling the XM into the target-machine, to test the sound. And so on.
Eye-pleasing and non ear-bleeding, thanks for the demo. It was even better second time round without the live stream 'Overhead lighting-vision' viewpoint ;-)

quite impressed by the colors of this platform.
nice demo, and impressive oldschool effects. the only thing that is lacking is the music, so but i wonder if that may have anything to do with the capabilities of the sound-chip. so i wonder if the SID is better, or if if its just that the tune lacks wow-factor. anyway, thumbs up for the superb oldschool effects

amazing demo! i really really enjoyed all of the main effects. i know some simple effects like shade bobs are loading screens. i specially liked the "background effects", not leaving the screen empty or static, filling all pixels possible. superb demo.

It crash on VICE and YAPE at same position. How I must configure YAPE?
added on the 2012-08-17 16:32:40 by Dr.InSide Dr.InSide
You must set the drive to 1541 cpu level compatibility.. Use Yape..

Btw: the sound: the ted has 5 sound registers 4 for frequencies of the !two! voices (not below 100hz) and one for the shape of the sound: one volume for both voices (0-8) there and you can choose voiceon/off for both voices + one voice can be switched to noise.. however we have emulated 3 voices and can go down to 50 hz.. The Sid has massively more registers and soundshaping functionality.. jsyk :)

I don't know. Some of it is great (1bit gfx!), some of it feels awkward and clumsily put together. There's no flow or overall consistency. Good off-the-shelf effects, mixed with not-so-good ones that look like filler. Piggy.
