yeah
Nice rotations.
You need a bankswitched cartridge. Definitely.
.
Nice
Ugly as fuck
Uses pre-calculated table and looks not so good but still thumb up!
A quick proof-of-concept prod in case it isn't obvious.
Having pondered this a bit more I realize I could generate all the midpoints, bringing the size of each frame down to 16 bytes from 40. With delta coding that could be brought further down to 8. That still leaves speeding up the sorting though.
Still, using tables feels like cheating. I'd like to be able to do free form rotations, but the problem is that transforming the 8 vertices to screen space is still 16 divisions..

nice for what it is
Tjoppen: have you seen the 3d stuff done by Thomas Jentzsch? http://www.atariage.com/forums/topic/155657-elite-3d-graphics/
I guess at some point you just HAVE to use a cart type with additional RAM =)

Moerder: Ooh, very cool. He's using a framebuffer though. However, having a system that splits the rendering into subtasks that fit in VBLANK is very cool.
I do have some ideas how to draw polygons without resorting to buffers.
>suggesting I use additional RAM
That wouldn't be very civilized :)

thats a nice proof, no matter if it uses tables. i think most of c64/miga-prods(500) used tables aswell ;)
Certainly a different 4k intro :)
Doesn't look good, but a first effort on the way to realtime 3D on an unexpanded VCS is commendable!
Looks OK but a bit irritating. I think backface culling would have helped here.
nice²
ok
