The best Phoney Coders demo. I've got to see that again! The first wild write I see was here. When I was thinking to try coding such one, I am still inspired by this.
There was also an animation of a working engine with some sine scroller? And other nice parts..
It needs a Roland yes. Quite a rare soundcard, what were it's capabilites btw? I am wondering if I can found one so that I can run this demo with sound. Was it the only one playing Roland?

It combines samples with synthesis. Sounds very very good when used well.
Any of the Lucasarts games show this.

Fuck! It actually plays sound with dosbox, but it's all wrong I guess..
But the other two demos from them, it crash when I chose roland but this one works but too wrongly :P

I've been able to capture a video with audio of this prod from the Roland hardware is was composed for :)
On YouTube: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=uRHa7JjUqOU
Need someone to host the original 42MB AVI file though :)

quite smooth
Very nice for 1991.
not bad indeed.
Files are dated April 1992, and TPC was from Norway, so odds are this wasn't released at the Finnish Gathering 1991 party.. more likely the Norwegian Gathering 1992 party.
Interesting demo. Some effects are really repetitive.
Some gfx are very nice, some rendered and aged not well.
The music is interesting side of this demo. Roland-32 version in the YT link.
Not a big fun of this demo, but still I like it somehow.

if this prod is a fake, some info is false or the download link is broken,
do not post about it in the comments, it will get lost.

Opens with a cool spotlight over brickwall text effect.
Instead of the '92 standard scrollie text, TCP opted to go with a floating cube, that spewed forth all the characters from various positions on the screen.
Very cool :)
The demo was coded in about a week.
Included some pretty nice effects, aswell as the '92 standard 3D object rotations.
VGA / Roland (only)
