This is the initial public release of the OSMEngine ... this tiny library is capable of replaying SNDH (Atari ST/FM/E) musaxxs as well as Amiga Future Composer and JamCrackerPro files. It emulates a 68k CPU. Sources of the library are available as well ... feel free to use it in your productions ... or do what you want with it :)

Samples on how to use it with VC++, VC# and FreeBasic are included ...

Cheers,
SLiPPY

I have always wanted a tiny SNDH library on PC for some reason, I can only give it a thumb up :)

I have already used this lib to play future composer songs and for me it works like a charm so here's your thumb up :-)

What about the source?
A shame if it will be useable on windows only.

@spotUP: Sources are availabel on the site ... and I
'm going to do a ALSA version for it as well ... so in the near future there'll be a linux version as well :)

or if anybody of you want to help me ... go ahead ... :) Dare to drop me a line ... I'll give you access to my SVN server then ...

cool.

I'm so looking forward to see the YM ROCKERZ invade PC parties/compos.

Nice one Slippy.

Am I right to assume that STe-DMA is not yet supported (eg, try this file by 505).

I'm wondering because if it supports STe-DMA, it could be a good idea to implement the library in our XSC player on Mac OS X as the current lib (SC68) doesn't do that.

well done. I may use it one day.

So nobody will be excused for not using old-sk00lish-chip-musaxx in their products anymore.. ;-)

ltk_tscc: in PC demos/intros ?

thanks for the nice player and nice to see vectronix back :) I tested some songs and it seems as pure YM-stuff works very good, also with timer-effects like sidvoice. Digidrum support doesnt work very well (only some of the samples are replayed, some not, which sounds really strange).

evl: STE-DMA tunes didn't work in it here

Can't wait for those new YM/Paula productions for PC's. Sound great from the player :]

Stupid me for not checking the sources before doing the comment. The lib seems to be a wrapped SC68, no need to change XSC then :)

that's partly right, evl ... it's lightweighted and I'm going to check the DMA stuff ... :) Perhaps I'll get it running ^^

When I compile the test code I get this.

11 untitled1.cpp
C:\DEV-C_~1\Include\osme-funcs.h:49: multiple storage classes in declaration of `osme_music_info_t'

I linked the library in the project with -losmengine
and included the headers and object file, but obviously im still doing something wrong. :/

Reed: it's too bad you quit the scene musicwise but not trollwise. I would have prefered the other way around...

Rubicante: First of all - nice to see you here again ... just found out that the current release packaged lacked a DevCPP sample - so I did one very quickly. Feel free to download it here

Keep in mind that you a.) have to have a DX9 SDK installed and b.) that you possibly need to change the path to dsound.lib and dxguid.lib in the project options to fit your environment.

Thumb up for the effort but I miss some credits to Ben/OVL here who coded SC68. ;)

@StingRay: Humm - obviously you're right - I simply forgot to mention him here - on my website (http://www.vectronixhq.de/?page_id=27)

he got full credits for his SC68 ^^

Thanks for pointing this out ...
