horray scene, for ripping some old drawing found from internet and fucking it up on c64. really imaginative.

If it was an original piece of C64 art, I'd thumb it up, but I suspect that this:

(without the copyright notices) was put through a converter program, and thats not really in the spirit of the scene, is it?

OTOH, they have coloured it, and if every other scene graphician can rip Boris Valejo, then fuck it, here is my thumb.

Ahh fuck i spoke too soon. Now i've seen it all the way through, some of the colourisation has ruined the pic in parts, some of it has been lazily left as the converter program left it, and really its not that great.

I want my thumb back.

The guys who ripped this picture on the Speccy got rightly bashed, and I received a very pissed-off email from the original artist asking me to take it down until he got credit. So, in the interests of equality:

I don't really know what is so great about a converted scrolling picture apart from being monstrously huge. Still, a thumb up for the effort put in the fugly coloring, plus the probably kickass code.

Ripping a picture _without_ giving at LEAST credits of the original author _somewhere_ in the prod!!?? How LAME is that now?

Well, here are the facts about this prod:
- low and quite uninspired 'coloring' of an original b/w picture with way more style/feeling that way in it!
- music sucks as well as of a kinda 20(?) secs. dull loop style SID pattern!!!?? Pah...
- even the display-routine/coding seems to have some problems and slightly bugs here and there...

Sorry guys, whoever is/was responsible for that release: Feel _unproud_ now please!

THAT was/IS not at all any (c64) scene spirit feeling here...

My opinion here at least...

to convert a picture to the c64 is mostly hard work, and to convert an original b/w picture into color need imagination!

converting a picture to c64 is easy work (this ain't the nineties anymore). "fun release" sounds like a lousy excuse for releasing crap.

Well, i dont know what you are all complaining about...Ephidrena used At least scans or uses images from LP covers. On the C64 are more musics covered than anyone else would think. Like some musics in Deus Ex machina and many other Crest demos... (Dane, dont start complaining, i've gotcha. ;-)

If you watch some newer demos closer, there is still ripped stuff inside...
