I've always loved that kind of objects and don't find the 3d slow. Indeed the choice of colors is unsual, but at least it's not dutch ;)
yeah I watched it again, it's not that slow indeed but it's not amazingly fast either (it's only 100 pixels high and it takes 2 frames to be done)
A bit slow but I like the object which recall me that demo (sacrilège ;)

As for the intro, the 3d seems indeed a bit slow and I don't really like the colors either.
