Crashed at the same place for me too. :(
Although I never knew Spiral in person, he was certainly one of my gfx idols and a major source of motivation. Back when I was pixelling, I'd spend hours magnifying his logos in Dpaint, trying to figure out his technique.
I offer my sincerest condolences to his family and friends.

Spiral will be missed. He created many many nice gfx for atari demos...
Spiral has done great stuff. Though I never met him in person, his work is still inspirering for me till today.
Its also the first time i have seen a demo as a kind of an epitaph.
