Potion entry for Amiga 500 demo competition on Astrosyn 99.
wow! I'd like to see how smooth it is on an A500 because I only tried it on my A1200. Anyway it seems very brutal coding-wise :)
the music is just great for that kind of demo and the synch is perfect...

never got this to work on a A500 as it seemed to require an 020-cpu...

hmm, that's a bit disappointing then... and weird too... ECS and 020??
cool one anyway :)

Nono, this works fine on my a600.. might require more than 512kb chipmem though (don't remember...).
Anyway, it looks ok and it was this intro that inspired me to start doing ocs/ecs-stuff again.. :)

oops, I stand corrected... it does work on my A2000 :)

I just recall getting an error message on my A500 about the cpu...

Well, I only watched this in WinUAE (got to find a new powersupply for my A500!!!) but from what I saw there this is some kickass code! Nice music-synch, and that colored bumpmapper is awesome.

Running in winuae with match a500 speed makes a really descent framerate.
The resolution is probobly 128*100 using a blitter c2p.
Pretty impressive code.
Does it run on 1meg 512k chip / 512k fast amigas?

sp^ctz: I don't think so. It seems to be a demo made for Amigas with 1 megabyte of chip ram.
The executable is more than 700kb long and, moreover, WinUAE cannot run it with a 512k/512k configuration.

Indeed it is a good demo!
I like the music a lot! By the way, knows anyone how many kilobytes (of chip ram) eats the music?

sp^ctz: 1.5Mb minimum (tested on A500+, KS2, WB2.05 w/1Mb on board and 0.5Mb trapdoor - all chipmem)

The tunnels and sync are awesome. Wasn't it the first A500 demo with coloured bumpmapping? The music is not my cup of samples, but it's obviously well done and fits like glove.

feels like a 64k, mainly due to the sound quality, not very engaging overall

Potion style!

Heavily underrated. From a technical standpoint this is still one of the greatest 68000 demos ever created. How come this isn‘t more well-known?
