i wonder what the other opinions will be like. anyway, this demo became a target of many discussions about newskool vs. oldskool.

We don't care about oldskool vs accel wars, we are at scene since 1993 (ZX), so we did both, and love both, and our prodz simply rocks... (because we do, what we want) :))) Thanks for watching us. :)

seems like a very powerful 3d engine, and it has some nice parts, especially a the nice fountain on the screenshot. very unsmooth camera-movement though...

Yes, camera movement sux a big time. It has been real-time captured from the mouse input, and smoothed a bit afterwards. However, you won't get a result like in the case of spline camera-path definition in a 3D editor. (comment by the author)

This demo is basically a 3D scene fly-through, but wow, what a scene! Very well modeled with decent code. However, I find the wobbling camera movement a tad awkward to watch.

Um. I might be doing something wrong, but the demo won't run at all. Whatever options I set, when I press "Run" (or was it "Ok"), the menu just closes and when I check in Task manager, the thread isn't running any more). No error message or anything. Windows XP, ATI Rage.

the demo runs fine here (w2000 + geforce2gts).

as for the demo :

the 3d engine looks very good, it could have been used in a much better way imo. although some of the scenes are very good (nice textures, etc), the demo seems "empty".
the code looks pretty good though (well, the engine runs fast).

i personaly hated the music.

the graphics aren't bad, but not that good either (i'm talking about 2d stuff). it needs a bit of polishing (ie: no simple photoshop stuff).

anyway, nice work! you guys have an awesome 3d engine, let's hope we can see more stuff from you with this engine ;]

A very good and fast 3D engine, very detailed scenes and awesome textures. The music is quite nice even if I am not really into metal. Also, Gates pic is a nice touch, I really expected to see his head burning inside the devil's jaws :-P

On the other side, one would expect a little more in terms of design. And for the love of it, never give the camera man more coffee than he can handle! :-)

Uh... This sounds really odd, but when I hibernated my Windows and then woke it up, there were four instances of Fate running, even though they had disappeared without a trace earlier. The demo crashes when the Fate text comes on the screen for the second time, though. :-P

This accelerated demo is a beautifull "fly-bye", with an excellent 3d engine, but the music is so-so.
Still Roolz big time ;)

i think it's crappy and boring.

I not bothered that this isn't an arty demo, it's a nice showcase of a powerful 3d engine.

Shame about the camera control though.

How about an updated version with better camera work?

Sorry for the camera movement, I was a bit lazy to implement camera path loader from 3ds, so used realtime mouse capture instead - like recording a quake-like walkthrough. See you in our next demo, it will be a real evolution in terms of visual quality and contents.

I whole-heartedly agree with zelkor on this one.
I don't personally (usually) like 'metal'demos (coma/kooma prods are a big exception, tho), but for the sake of diversity, it's good that they are being made.

Bad camera work, and below average scenes/graphics, although the engine is nice...

Hehe, yes the camera is like some WASDed through it and saved the camera state every frame. I did this once in my qbasic demo deedsax. Didn't know I could do bezier and interpolate then (something I still haven't done for cameras, all my cameras are too simple in my demos).

But anyway, good fun for the year and first accel demos.
